. . . and Then There Were Two!

Almost done with the 1965 O-Pee-Chee Set! I struck out completely at the National, but I was able to snag a couple the other day online. Two down, two to go!

This is only the 3rd time I've ever seen a copy of this card.
And now it's mine! The only other copy on eBay is listed for 10 times the cost and is in worse condition...
Drysdale! This is only the third time I've seen this card anywhere, too. It's a little rough, but it is good enough for my set!
The Tape is on the topholder, not the card.

Just two more to go! Dave McNally and the Tigers Rookies Oyler / Northrup. I'm already bidding on a copy of the McNally on eBay, but the last card is probably going to take a while to find.

So exciting!

    1. Thanks! It's been a test of my willingness to wait for the right deal on these last 10 or so cards in the set.

  2. 6th place!

Congrats on the additions. That set is quite the challenge.

    1. I have a feeling the Buccos will turn it around by 1970...

Thanks! I was starting to wonder just how patient I could be after finding 0 needed cards at the National. I'll have to see how patient I can be for the last card I need. The one on eBay I would want to replace with one in better condition, so I might as well wait and only buy the card once...

  5. Great work! Both those cards are fantastic. I doubt my regular vintage guy at the local flea market would have the final two you're looking for but you never know.. I'll be by there in a few weeks so I'll ask.

    1. I really just need #259 Tigers Rookies Ray Oyler / Jim Northrup - if that vintage vendor has a 1965 O-Pee-Chee card of that, I would be shocked, but you know it never hurts to ask! If you find it, let me know, I'll be happy to send over some cool Reds your way.

    2. I will make a note of that and let you know what I find. He's always got tons of boxes of vintage stuff. I'll ask around at the local shops as well, never know what someone has.
