Another day, another pack full of Minor Leaguers...
Oh hey, Steven Matz isn't in the Minors anymore!
Here's a "Distinguishing Debuts" insert, featuring Tigers' First rounder Derek Hill.
Last three cards of the pack are pretty good too!
Only one guy gets the "Pro Debut" official seal - the rest of the guys had at least one year of pro ball already in the books.
Here's a look at the backs - like Series One, there's a nice big "Pro Debut" in the top right identifying the set.
I dunno, these were pretty good! The other pack I bought of this set had a Byron Buxton in it, so I'm a happy camper.
I like the Clearwater Threshers logo. Those guys are lucky. They get to play on a really nice field. Bright House Field was one of my favorite stops when I made my yearly trip to Spring Training.
ReplyDeleteThe Stars and Stripes sleeves I'm hoping were a special alternate jersey and not the regular one. The logo is good, though, I agree with you there.
Delete"Yearly trip to Spring Training" is a fantastic phrase, I hope I get to use it one day! I'm "planning" to go in 2017, though I actually have no plans in reality.
I stopped going in recent years. We've talked about starting it back up. My wife even mentioned going to Ft. Myers to see some family during the spring so I could see a few games. Might be able to catch the Pirates/Twins
DeleteIt doesn't matter how often I see him, CJ and his size always surprises me. He's one tiny dude.
ReplyDelete6'2" is not that small, but 155? Yowza that is rail thin.
DeleteWhat's mind boggling is that the Cubs set him up with a dietitian to get him to add weight. He is NOW 155. I wonder what he was before.
DeleteFor better or worse, I've never had that problem...
DeleteWell Gary Sanchez got his MLB call up. He just hasn't played in a game yet.
