Periodical Oddballs

What is going on here? Heritage? No, sir. These are SCD Price Guide cards from 1990.
Who can forget Rookie Phenom Monty Fariss? He's going to solve the Rangers Middle Infield questions! (Personally, I think they should try to acquire Julio Franco and uh... Jeff Huson?
The Wizard of Oz and HoJo at the bat rack - most of these were in the 1969 Topps deisgn. . .
But the reason I bought this lot was for the Kirby Pucketts! I thought the last one was a bat flip, but it's actually a broken bat (you can still see that he has the knob)
 Oh, and this one!
1990 and MJ got an early taste of playing baseball for the Sox.

    1. Little did they know what was in store for MJ . . .

  2. These are some of my all-time favorite oddballs. I especially love the Puckett "broken bat" shot.

(By the way, I'll finally be posting the awesome cards you gave me at the National on the blog tonight.)

    1. The only knock on these cards is that they are just a tiny bit bigger than a standard card, so they fit very very snugly in binder pages. Otherwise, they are awesome!

  3. Seeing MJ in a white so uniform instantly takes me back to my childhood and spending way too much of my allowance trying to get one of his baseball cards. Nice finds!

  4. Those are some awesome cards. I really like that Eric Davis. That Jordan card is a really nice score.

  5. I finally got your package sent. I don't have any Twins cards because they all went to rhubarb long ago so I just sent you random.
