More oddball Alous!

I couldn't take the card buying drought any longer and I went onto COMC to do something about it. The result was to pick up a nice collection of Alou oddballs!

For as much as the three brothers were in the league at the same time, it was actually hard to find oddball sets that features all three of them
 Here's a different 60's game set.
The Topps Fan Favorites are super classy cards! Pacific before they lost their minds in the 90s made some fairly boring but solid sets of retired greats in the 80s
This one of middle brother Matty is probably the coolest.
It's a 1977 Padres Schedule / Baseball card! I think "English Leather Cologne Jacket Night" must have been a hit.
Finally, here's a Moises for good measure.

  1. You should chase the auto version of the Moises. They are not that expensive.

  2. That Padres Matty Alou is fantastic. I've never seen a shot of him in Padre garb. I've also been looking to get my hands on a copy of that 2015 Bowman Moises Alou because it's one of his few cards as a Pirate.

    1. Me neither until I saw that schedule card. Matty's last Topps card says he's a San Diego Padre, but he's obviously wearing Yankee Pinstripes in the photo.

    1. The thing that will either drive a collector crazy or make them jump for joy: There are several different versions of the photo on the front of the schedule, so this is 1 of 3 or possibly 4 unique versions of the "Matty Alou 1977 Padres Schedule Card"
I'll be gunning for some Dave Winfield cards from the same set before too long...

  4. I'll echo everyone here and say that the Padres schedule card is awesome. This is a concept that some intrepid team should revive for their promotions schedules!
