A Spot of 75s
Derrel missed National Sunglasses Day, but it's never too late to observe it. He's sporting mischievous eyebrows at a Jack Nicholson Level. John of Johnny's Trading Spot sent over some 1975 Topps recently, and I am happy to have them!
The scanner did the best it could on these two, they were extremely miscut.
From the backs of those two, a pair of nicknames on the cartoons. Jesus is actually in really sharp, nice condition not counting the centering.
Some more great, colorful cards.
Thanks a bunch, John!

I cannot see any reference to Larry Haney without thinking about Tom "Wimpy" Paciorek making his lame Green Acres reference every time Mr. Haney strolled to the mound when the Brewers were playing the Sox.
ReplyDeleteNo video of it anywhere, but a reference to it in this article about 2/3 down:
http://baseballhall.org/discover/card-corner/here-comes-mr-haney
That's cool, I had never heard that before!
DeleteI had the card on my list because the photo on the 75 card is of Dave Duncan (a different catcher turned pitching coach), and my fondness for the other Haney error card from 69 Topps which reversed the image making him look left handed.
The Tiant is one of my personal favorites from the '75 set.
ReplyDeleteAlso, wanted to let you know that got your package in the mail today, thank you so much, kind sir!
They can keep their place in the binder warm until you find replacements.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely John! In fact I will probably keep them all in there as the permanent card, with the exception of Tiant, who I think I will eventually send along to a miscut collector.
