Short post, just wanted to share the Twins in the recent 3D set that Topps sold in packs online from their site. I did not buy any from Topps directly, knowing that my chances of getting these cards were slim to none.
So, I waited for them to appear on eBay, and I ended up buying both cards from the same seller. Didn't get the thrill of the hunt, but still satisfied to find these guys.
I'd love to eventually grab the two Athletics... but I just can't fork over the prices dealers are getting for their singles. Maybe one day I'll find them in someone's dollar bin.
ReplyDeleteThe Mauer card was a bit more than I would have liked, but the two combined cost what I was willing to spend. A more patient collector might've tried their luck on some of auctions, but I didn't want to miss out.

Pretty good, a step up from the mid 90s DIII or whatever Topps called them. I could nitpick and ask for an alternate photo compared with the flagship, but these were good player choices and I liked the Mauer photo a lot already.

ReplyDeleteI just searched eBay with "Topps On Demand Twins" might need more terms to find BoSox, there are more designs to go through for Boston fans.
DeleteWow, never heard of the set, but pretty cool. Lenticular is making a comeback I hear.
ReplyDeleteExcellent Mauer card! If Lenticular is making a comeback, hopefully it can be made for Hobby and Retail.
