Patches Adam

Another day, Another #Supertrader! Adam from Infield Fly Rule sent over a bubble mailer figuratively bursting at the seams (the mailer was fully intact) with Twins and mini collections!

There was the huge stack of commemorative patches!
I looked at this card for a very long time, trying to determine which collection this fit into before I saw that Perez was listed as a "Minnesota Twins (P)itcher" on the bottom. Bonus - if you look close on the bottom right, this technically qualifies as a bat rack card.
Not quite Jose Bautista level, but here's a nice Puckett bat flip - he tended to flip the bat pretty hard on singles and doubles as he was getting out of the batter's box, not so much on homers.
Future's bright for these guys - Lots of shades in the mailer.
 Bat Racks!
Morneau sporting the sweet throwback uni - I hope he lands somewhere soon. He deserves a shot to end on his own terms. With Adam LaRoche retiring yesterday, maybe Chicago would give him a look (though it churns my stomach a little to think of him as a Southsider).
We end with a nice Mike Pagliarulo cameo (at least, I think that's Pags under there) - a pretty cool shot regardless.

Thanks Adam, these were awesome!

A New Vintage Super Trade

Mark Hoyle, as we have come to know, is the bestower of great vintage of all shapes, sizes, and flavors.
But he also can surprise you from time to time with the new stuff. A PWE hit my mailbox this week with some 2016 vintage goodness.

In 1967, This card featured Killebrew and Bob Allison - I hope 500 Homers are in the cards for Sano as well, but I won't put all that on a guy entering his first full season in the big leagues.
John Hicks was a Mariner last year, so it makes sense to pair him with one on this card. He's a "veteran" rookie, and he'll probably spend most of 2016 with AAA Rochester, only coming up if John Ryan Murphy or Kurt Suzuki get hurt (or traded).
I like Manager cards. The action shots are the best, but this is ok too.
 Good write-up too.
Your 2015 AL Triples leader, Eddie Rosario, and the Twins only lefty starter, Mr. Tommy Milone. He's, how you say? Crafty.
Stickers! Always fun to pick up Twins from the stickers set, one of these years I just might get a book from Target and build a set. Seems like a fun diversion.

Thanks Mark! As Always, a great bunch of cards!

Spotting a big trade (preview)

Just wanted to send a quick shout out to John of Johnny's Trading Spot for the HUUUUGE Box of cards that he sent over. I will be taking a while to get all these sorted, and I'll post some of the highlights in a few days, but wow. Once again I am floored by the volume and generosity on display here.
In addition to stacks and stacks of cards, there were two books - one on Dodger Manager Tommy Lasorda, and another on Nicknames, which is right up my alley.

Thanks John, I'll be working on a return package this weekend!

Redemption

I busted a box of 2011 Topps Lineage a few weeks ago, and was the lucky winner of a redemption card. Of course the card expired some time ago, so I opted to visit COMC and replace it myself. The signatures available didn't really speak to me, so I decided to go quantity over a single card.
Starting off with a Joe Mauer Box Topper
A Pair of Hall of Fame Relics
 More Mauer inserts!
 A Trio of tiny Twins . . .
Then I took a little detour to find a couple Twins related hits
 BOOF.
This last one was a short print from the Donruss Originals set - if Donruss had made a card for Kirby in 1984, it might have looked like this (though I doubt they would have used such a good photo).

After all that, I feel redeemed. No worries about missing out on that Myron Ginsberg Autograph.

#Supertraders Variety Pack

Pedro knows what's up - Night Owl sent over one Super Trade Package, with a little bit of everything. I love how this phenomenon is encouraging folks to be bold and curate these trade packages. Mr. Night Owl provides a prime example of how its done, he's been at it for some time. Congrats on your decade back in the hobby, Greg!
Here we have another Greg. The Halloween set gets some love, and Joe was still in his country music / sideburns phase of his career.
Great shot in the Metrodome . . .
Wait - the Documentary set has gold parallels?? The card on the top right is card number 3500 in the set - ridiculous! I want to meet the person chasing this set....
Pat Mahomes was the Twin mostly likely to featured on a card with his hat on backwards. Coomer often is showing off his tiger mane and forgoing the hat altogether.
Greg parted with a pretty cool night card of Juan Gone - I still have junk wax needs, but thanks to Super Traders the world over, I've been making a serious dent in those want lists.
I'm building this base set (really) so it was great to get some more!
The only Heritage I need -
 Gotta share the back too.
Some fun parallels!

Thanks Greg, this package was a real hoot!
