Post 1,000 - Time for Another Arbitrary Giveaway.
I can't believe it myself, but this is my 1,000th post on blogger. The first 8 folks to comment here will get some free stuff from me. Why 8? I dunno. Just being arbitrary. In that same spirit, here a few of my favorite cards added while blogging. I had this Mudcat Grant card signed in person at Twins Fest, and marveled at Grant's kindness and grace- especially the time he took with kids.
Remember when Bartolo Colon was a Minnesota Twin? We lived through some wondrous and strange times over the life of this blog.
Building the 1965 O-Pee-Chee set was my first set build on the blog, which included finding this instant classic "rare 1/1" of Brooks Robinson.
I am still looking for the 2015 Topps Series 1 "Clear" parallel of Kennys Vargas, numbered to /10. I may never find it, as the majority of them are probably still sealed in series 1 Hobby Jumbo Pack boxes. If you really want to get some cool free stuff from me, help me find that parallel!
From my very first post!
By May of 2014, I was back in the hobby with both feet and began building sets new and old. What am I collecting? A little bit of everything. 2014 Topps Heritage turned into 1965 O-Pee-Chee which turned into Topps' All-Star Rookies 1960-present which has snowballed into any number of wild tangents.
Thanks for reading this first post - I'm excited to share my love of old school vintage, new school shiny things, and just plain weird things, like this Mike Cubbage card autographed by Twins bench coach Joe Vavra.
Congrats! One of my favorite blogs to read.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Drawing beards seemed to be a popular thing for kids to do in the pre-facial hair era of baseball.
ReplyDeleteWay to go! Always a good read, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! Keep it up. Always a pleasure to read.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Brian! This is a milestone!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Brian. Here is to the next 1000! Some real skills on that Brooksy card.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the milestone! I'm about 2 years out from 1000 posts, even though I also started in 2014.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Brian! 1,000 posts is a heckuva accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteWaited just long enough to miss the cards, but wanted to say congrats on the 1000 post milestone! That's pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteCongrats
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1000! Here's to the next grand!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on reaching 1,000! Here's to 1,000 more!
ReplyDelete1 post for every 10 lakes! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteMudcat Grant is a super cool dude to talk to!! Happy 1,000th!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the milestone! Here's to another 1k.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on reaching 1000 posts!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a thousand! Easily one of my favorite blogs out there. I can't thank you enough for introducing me to that solar-eclipse Topps Now Colon -- I doubt I would've known that masterpiece existed without you.
ReplyDeleteI'd buy Topps NOW every day of the week if it was full of cards like the Colon, or the bullpen car, or Zobrist riding his bike. I go for the nonsense over the 8th straight card of a batter hitting a game winning RBI. Show me the celebration! But they make cards like Colon's special by only doing them every once in a while.
DeleteCongrats on 1,000 posts! That's a lot of dedication. Keep up the great work!
