That's OK with me too Gus.
Since it is that time of the year, I decided to celebrate some World Series moments and catch up on a long sought after team card.
an upcoming trade reminded me that I am working on the 1969 Topps Deckle Edge set.
As you can tell, this trip was all about vintage. and there were just three vendors that I focused on, all with plenty of stuff from the 70s and older. That vintage seller that moved away? He e-mailed me ahead of the show and asked if I was working on any sets. I gave him my 1956 list, and here is the aftermath:
32 additions to my set, including Hall Of Famer Yogi Berra!
I've updated my vintage lists again, but this trip cut deeply into my card budget for the month. We'll have to see where we go from here.
Nice group of cards!!
ReplyDeleteFor older stuff most of anything I look for is a single player. The teams I collect didn't exist before 1969 lol
Do you do vintage hockey, though? There's a fair amount of that in this area, even though Minnesota didn't have an NHL team until the 60s, and then another gap in the 90s after the North Stars left.
DeleteHockey I only collect a couple players.. Both from my hometown. That said, if you come across Aaron Mackenzie from a few years ago, let me know lol
DeleteAwesome haul! So many nice cards here. I've always liked that 52 Zernial but it seems that even common 52's are out of my budget.
ReplyDeleteIf you saw the back of it, you'd see how I afforded it! The vintage guy Kurt always brings a tub of off-condition cards, usually 75 to 90 percent off the dreaded "book value"
DeleteI was sorry to have missed kurt's return to the twin cities. Looks like you did well!
ReplyDeleteHe said he wasn't sure when he'd make it back, but he hoped to make it a least once a year- he still has some family in MN.
