1951 Topps Red Back Warren Spahn |
I blew most of my budget on two Giant Kennys Vargas Cards, but I still had a little cash burning a hole in my pocket, so I headed over to see the vintage guy. He still had some awesome '51 Red Backs, so I snapped up the well loved Spahnie you see above.
Dave Ricketts is one Hep Cat. Most of these came from a 50 cent box. Dave, Gus, and Gene were in a bargain tub.67 - 68 - 69 - all 50 centers! Oh, that's not a duplicate Barry Moore, I just took his picture twice for some reason...
Some sweet 70s Cardboard. This is the last card show I'm going to this month (saving up for the National), I'm happy I found a nice stack of cheap vintage to tide me over til the end of July.
I saw a hipster drinking a PBR that looked exactly like Dave Ricketts the other day.
ReplyDeleteLove the Murtaugh card too!
I really like the 60 Topps Managers - I'm going for the whole run of those guys.
DeleteRicketts is the hero of the hipsters - he's always rocking those awesome thick rimmed glasses.
Brian, I can probably help out with some of the '60s managers. Fire me your needs.
DeleteThat would be great Bob - I'll send you an e-mail later today when I get home from work.
DeleteSweet Ricketts!
ReplyDeleteThat Spahn is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe last card show this month ... why, you, I oughta (*shakes fist*).
ReplyDeleteLove those '67s!
The 67 set has really grown on me in the last year. I thought I didn't like it. I was wrong! I'm even looking forward to next year's Heritage set.
DeleteAside from the Spahn (obviously), I think that '73 Davey Johnson double dip is favorite of the bunch.
ReplyDeleteAh the National. It isn't to be for me this year though I'm closer than ever. Perhaps next year. I've always loved those Manger cards. Colorful cardboard fun!
