I've visited this particular vendor several times and was starting to see all the same stuff, but it looks like he re-stocked for this particular show.
there was a nice variety of brands and years
See? Not all 1992 Fleer cards are bad...
These were a little more than a dime, but didn't break the bank. Turns out I already had the Rickey Henderson Hologram, if anyone is interested...
Let's turn back the clock, shall we? I had to go after a little more vintage, though (I still had cash in my wallet):
...and how about one more '56 for the road?
The Tombstone cards have been popping up on the blogs a lot recently. I dig the food cards.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid I had a ton of them- I was trying to get the Puckett one. We ate a lot of crappy pizza at my house because I pretended it was my favorite brand...I think it is part of why my sister became a vegetarian!
DeleteHa! The things we do for cards. I remember thinking that eating at Denny's was a treat. In actuality I think I just knew I was going to get cards when we paid the bill.
DeleteTo this day anytime I see someone eating string cheese of think of Mootown Snackers and the baseball cards that came with them.
DeleteI know the players' union thinks they're making enough money, but if they ever want to agree to a few food card deals I would be all for it.
Agreed. Although for my own health I'm glad that I can't get cards with a box of Twinkies (or I guess cigarettes, too) anymore.
DeleteThat Irvin is great! I second the hope for more food releases in the future(though I think it's doubtful).
ReplyDeleteI second that on Irvin. Love the food issues too, and I still Like Dennys (every now and again).
ReplyDeleteI'd love the Rickey ! Any hologram is always a welcome addition !
ReplyDeleteI almost bought a box of 92 Fleer off D&A the other day, then thought better of it...probably better that way
Perfect - I will add it to the thing I am sending your way. I am trying to figure out the best way to pack it up for its trans-atlantic journey!
