Just One (Rack) Pack: 1995 Topps Stadium Club Series 2

One of the boxes I picked up awhile pack had 6 rack packs of 1995 TSC series 2. Here's what I found in one of those Rack Packs.
Canseco sighting, this time in Boston - he was quite the mercenary after his first stint in Oakland.
The last card is part of a subset called "Best Seat in the House" featuring info on the various MLB stadiums.
Mo Vaughn looks like a bad dude - check out the double omega branding on his bicep. whoa.

Here was the big insert - V R Extremist:

There's something very depressing to me about the 1995 Topps sets' Virtual Reality subsets. I get the idea of wondering what might have happened if the 1994 season finished,  but these cards just remind me of the strike.

  1. That Vaughn with the horseshoe branding has always fascinated me as well.

    1. I was curious so I googled it ... Vaughn has said that it was for a fraternity initiation. It looks like the greek letter omega to me, but I guess he says they are horseshoes. Either way, that's some serious stuff.

  2. I'm with you on the Virtual Reality and Cyberstats parallel to the regular set. It was like Topps was saying, "hey, here's the great season that could have been!" Jerks.

Brian, can you send me an e-mail with your address again? I seem to have lost your address and I have a few items that belong in your collection rather than mine.

    1. "Hey, remember when the World Series got cancelled?" -- Topps

  3. I only recently picked up one of those VR Extremist inserts (guess who was on it), and it is the quintessential '95 Stadium Club insert. Love it.

    1. The other 95 stadium club packs yielded 2 "clearcut" inserts - they are kind of a mix between Topps Finest and the Acetate/Clear parallels from the last couple years of Topps. This Tony Gwynn was the only VR Extremist to come out of the packs.
